________
851. That moment when you add Thai tea to a glass full of ice and the glass hasn't started sweating yet. Mmm, cold but not messy.
852. The way my baby's hair is growing so long in the back.
853. Family walks around the block, pushing the stroller and working on our fitness.
854. Mornings sleeping in while Daddy takes care of baby.
855. Waking up to a beautiful baby who smiles as soon as she sees your face.
856. The sinful delight of a bubbly Coke Zero.
857. The movie "A Chorus Line." It has Michael Douglas, dancing and cheesy songs. I laugh, I cry, it's one of my favorites.
858. That I can read blogs on my smart phone at 3 a.m. when I'm up with baby. Technology!
859. That we never go to sleep angry.
860. Soft-serve ice cream cones from McDonald's. The $1 ones. Because sometimes it's fun to tap into your inner child.
861. Feathers in your hair. I really really want to try this.
862. My husband's ridiculously long eyelashes. They're so lush.
863. The crisp ocean breeze at the top of the hill, with Catalina Island in the distance.
864. The Strokes' new album. At the moment my favorite is "Two Kinds of Happiness," but I like every song on it.
865. Fast forwarding through unnecessarily loud commercials on DVR.
866. Amazon Kindle. I can read sappy chick lit on the treadmill now without the pages flapping around.
867. Cardigans for stylishly hiding my flawed arms.
868. Living in an apartment without air conditioning or central heat and it's OK for 345 out of 365 days a year because the weather here is amazing.
869. How taking a quick shower can turn your mood from sour to content.
870. Delicious baby toes. Gobble them up.
871. Friends who start off in the middle of the last conversation you had with them, no matter how many years it's been since you've seen them or talked to them.
872. Summer barbecues, Corona with lime and good laughs.
873. Trader Joe's peppermint toothpaste. Less expensive than commercial pastes, and all-natural. Win-win.
874. Old photographs in shoe boxes and late nights spent "remembering when."
875. Pedicures with bright red nail polish.
Number 858... That. Is. All. Can we get a halle-freaking-lujah for smartphones? I was lucky enough to get my iPhone (Miss Bluebell) right before Roman was born, so it was my saving grace for all of the times that he fell asleep and I was too afraid to move and wake him. Netflix in bed. On my phone. Hell yes. :)
xo,
Violet
I never even thought about how amazing smartphones could be when nursing a baby but that's so funny to think about! :) Love all of these.
